Bible-Based Writing Lessons
IEW
Class runs from Sept 2023 - April 2024
This collection of writing lessons provides an incredible opportunity to increase your students’ understanding of Scripture as they improve their writing abilities. Working through all of IEW's nine units—and beyond, these writing lessons use actual passages from Scripture as source texts.
Bible-Based Writing Lessons offers writing topics that cover a full year of instruction for students with previous IEW experience and reading comprehension at grades 6-8+; this course is suitable for Middle & High School levels. The Student book includes vocabulary cards, literature suggestions, blank outlines, source texts, checklists, and vocabulary cards.
IEW's structural units are taught in order; elements of style are introduced gradually. A set of helpful and meaningful vocabulary will be introduced, as well. The words, chosen to work easily in the writing assignments, expand students' vocabularies and add sophistication to their compositions. Students will delve into Bible stories and themes while learning to write with structure and style.
The Student will be required to actively participate in the weekly, live online classes; stay current with Assignments; produce guided compositions; and actively communicate with the Teacher & students using the Google Classroom platform. This class meets weekly on Mondays.
REQUIREMENTS: Internet access with a laptop or computer with camera/video capability. Occasional access to a printer.
Class Starts: Sept. 4, 2023
