Spanish 1
Class runs from Sept 2023 - April 2024
Spanish 1 takes an innovative and engaging approach to help students not only learn about Spanish, but learn to communicate at a novice-high level. All chapters present vocabulary and grammar within the context of the theme. Cultural studies infuse the text from the artwork down to the activities, with a heavy focus on developing a biblical worldview.
The Student will be required to actively participate in the weekly live online class; stay current with Assignments; study for assessments (quizzes & tests); and actively communicate with the Teacher & other Students on the Google Classroom platform.
REQUIREMENTS: Spanish 1, 3rd ed., student text (order from BJU Press). Internet access with a laptop or mobile device with camera/video capability. Occasional access to a printer.
CREDIT: 1 yr. High School Spanish Credit
Class Meets: online on Thursdays, 1-2:30pm (Central)
Class Starts: Sept. 5, 2023 Ends: April 30, 2024

About Our Teacher
Marcie (Myriam) Flores has been homeschooling her five children for over 22 years. Her two daughters & oldest son have graduated from homeschool, but she still teaches her two younger sons at home (ages 13 & 14). Marcie also teaches online-based classes, such as Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, Writing with IEW, the US Constitution, and the Holocaust, which are open to anyone.
With a deep interest in all things natural, Marcie has been studying and actively using aromatherapy and other natural remedies, and making all-natural cleansers, perfumes, and household products for her family & friends. Beginner's Spanish
Class runs from Sept 2023 - April 2024
This Beginner's Spanish course takes a proven, classical approach to help students learn to communicate in Spanish. Units present vocabulary & grammar within the context of a theme. Students will learn proper pronunciation from a native Spanish speaker.
The Student will be required to actively participate in the weekly live online class; stay current with Assignments; study for assessments (quizzes & tests); and actively communicate with the Teacher & other Students on the Google Classroom platform.
REQUIREMENTS: Internet access with a laptop with camera/video capability. Occasional access to a printer. (No book. Teacher will provide materials.)
CREDIT: 1 yr. Spanish Credit
Class Meets: online on Tuesdays, 10-11:15am (Central)
Course Starts: Sept. 5, 2023 Ends: April 30, 2024
